The “We did not surf in Baler” Post

I know right! Andun na kami tapos di pa nag-surf. In my defense, masunurin lang kami. The weather was bad and may warning daw yung munisipyo na bawal mag surf. Marami pa din sumuway, but we did not risk na lang.

So bago ang lahat, let’s talk about getting there.
We got our JoyBus tickets online: https://www.pinoytravel.com.ph/
This site is less popular pero I was able to book smoothly. They have credit card option which is processed via PayPal). Their Baler route departs from Genesis Cubao terminal.

We booked one night at budget lodge “Surfer Girls Lodge” and one night at the luxury resort, Costa Pacifca. I wish I came across Charlie Does Inn when I was searching for rooms! That hotel/motel was cutie! I can’t find prices online though. But I will definitely call them when I plan a trip back to Baler. It gave me “Flotsam Jetsam of La Union” feels.

Due to the inclement weather, we were not able to see some of the other attractions in Aurora. We wanted to see the Mother Falls and the Discalarin Cove but it was not possible because of the bad weather.
I would say tricycle is the most common mode of transportation within Baler. Medyo mahal lang coz it’s usually around P12 – P15 per person, depende kung saan kayo pupunta. Sana ma-regulate ito ng city. Sayang kasi, I feel like we were robbed. Like that time we
My friend has a friend whose boyfriend lives in Baler. Si friend’s bf and his cousin ang nag-tour samin. We chipped in for the gas na lang.

What we did/see during our “unfortunately cut short” trip:

Baler Signage
Museo de Baler
Donya Aurora Aragon-Quezon House
Baler Catholic Church (just the façade/door, really)
Baler Hanging Bridge
Quick photo op at Diguisit Beach and Rock Formations
Ermita Hill and Tromba Marina Sculpture
Had Barbecue at Dipaculao
Saw and entered the Millennium Tree (Balete tree)
Jump off to the Mother Falls
Shopping at Baler Pasalubong Center
Samboy’s soon to be resort
Swimming at Costa Pacifica
Played Cards Against Humanity at Charlie Does Inn

Hanging Bridge
Dungaw sa bintana at Donya Aurora Aragon-Quezon's House

Expenses:
JoyBus Deluxe Ticket – P730
Surfer Girls Lodge – P2000 (aircon room for 3 pax)
Costa Pacifica – P6500 per night
JoyBus Semi-deluxe Ticket – P645 (wait I have to confirm if this is correct)

Eating in Baler

Oooh we all love to discover good eats when travelling don’t we. But unfortunately I have mixed/bipolar review here. Either I really enjoyed, or I was super disappointed.

Mobile Lugaw “Stall” at Labasin St.
Buffet at Chef Gerry's Picnic Bay
Barbecue at Dipaculao
Dialyn’s Bakeshop
Paddle Out Grill
Charlie Does

Wait, parang di pala kami masyado kumain! Bakit ganon? Anyway I will tell you a very sad story.
Di kami nakapag buffet sa Costa Pacifica! I know right!! So sad. Hindi kasi kami naka kuha agad ng ticket pabalik, nung bumalik kami sa Genesis Terminal, ubos na yung mga good slots na deluxe. So we took the 4:30 am trip na lang. That’s why I said our trip was cut short.
We could’ve extended if we wanted to, but Master talked us out of it, sort of. Kesho Monday would be very ma-trapik na. Costa Pacifica packed us breakfast na lang. Rice + Longganisa and eggs and fresh fruits slices. Haayy so sad. Buffet.
ps. now planning a trip to Baler in February! Sana maayos ang weather by then.
pps. next time na yung ibang pictures

National Museum of Singapore

Late post obviously and I am afraid that this would most likely be just photodump post. But I'll try my best.
Nagustuhan ko talaga ang mga napili kong isama sa itinerary namin sa SG. And I must say na-impress talaga ako sa National Museum of Singapore.
The well-preserved structure and its pristine white walls would not make you think that this is the oldest museum in the country.
NSM mostly shows history of Singapore. It is presented in a way na makikita mo yung progress ng country.
Aside from that, meron din silang mga "temporary" exhibits. When we went there, it was "Celebrating Radio: Sounds from the Past". It was like listening to a "podcast from the past" ;p
I was really impressed with NSM.I just wished the battery to my camera didnt die on me.

hindi parepareho ng "era" pero ayan collage na lang kasi I'm so lazy

I'm pointing to the button that allows me to select a particular recording which was aired in the past

We went bowling and it was supposed to be fun but I lost so..

First time na nanalo sya sa kahit anong games/competition namin (legit - minsan nandurugas sya)! I cannot believe it. Dinasalan nya ata yung mga bowling balls and pins! Oh well.

Patok pala bowling dito sa Alabang. Ang daming naglalaro; some came in groups, yung iba couple, and may mga mag isa lang din. Some of the players also look like regulars. Meron pa sila nung arm support thing-y.

Here are the rates. Take note, 2 ang Astrobowl sa Starmall Alabang! Both marami tao nung nagpunta kami.

Ako yang naka strike, kaso talo pa din :(

Napadaan kami sa Southmall few days after we went bowling sa Starmall Alabang. Mahal ng onti sa SM.

082716sat Random Blah Blah and Photo Dump

Yung andami nang tambak na picture tapos di pa din ma upload upload!
Skip ko muna Singapore trip tutal di ko din naman ma-organize.

So magdadaldal muna ako dito, thinking out loud, thought vomit etc. Okay I'll start.

I gained 5.5 kgs from last year's APE. Nahihirapan ako 'coz some jeans and trousers don't fit anymore!

Okay moving on.
I loovveeeeeeee this Ever Bilena Lipstick na nabili ko sa Savemore - Matte - Toast of New York. Naggrocery kami ni mommy bago yung SG trip namin ni boss, and I thought I want a new lippie (wow lippie kala mo soshal na brand haha). And feeling ko jackpot sya coz it's matte pero hindi nagddry lips ko. And it's only (insert correct price here) pesos! As usual di ko na naman matandaan presho. I wanna say P134, or P164 - ayan basta less than P200! What a steal right. IMO it's the perfect shade between red and brown.

The brown lipstick shade of the 90s is back. The 90s, greatest decade evurrr, is definitely back.  Just notice how all the fashion statements from that decade is trending right now. We are all borrowing outfits from Rachel Green's closet:
Plain White Sneakers
Cropped top
Mom Jeans
Denim Overalls
I'd say give it another 5 years then we'll all wear what she wore Season 5 onwards.

Photo dump!!

We stayed at B Hotel in Quezon City

We stayed at B Hotel in Quezon City and there were so many things I liked!

1.The interior design is nice and modern
2. It's sulit for its price (3800 Php with breakfast)
3. Room vibe was not hotel-ish (in a good way)
4. They served Danggit for breakfast (of course some other stuff too)
5. King sized bed
6. Extra Pillows!
7. Bare walls
8. All the grey I see
9. Cute pool
10. Other tiny details

 What I didn't like:
1. Other toiletries not readily available - conditioner, lotion etc - available upon request, uhm, di nyo pa sinama!

I had mixed feelings for the "not inside the bathroom" sink, but I know that it was placed that way to go with the modern theme and for better floor area use. I think.
