Day 3 - Back in Bacolod City

I loved walking around the city 

They have a well-kept museum with meaningful display

I love going to local coffee shops 

We almost skipped The Ruins because it was drizzling and we were kind of tired from our Lakawon trip. I am so glad we didn't! The Ruins has such an amazing story I'm glad the family who owns it decided to share it to the public. I didn't have much expectation to it. I thought it was just a nice mansion that now looks rustic and Instagrammable, but it was waaaaay beyond that!

This trip is high on my list because we did a lot of things I really love when travelling; and some firsts.

Take local transportation -I love how it was so easy to get around the city. 

It was our first time to try hot sulfur bath, that was a nice experience.

Eating - I loved the food (local food and local coffee shop).

Beach - Really nice beach was just a couple of hours away and we were lucky because it felt so exclusive since there were not a lot of guests given that we went on monsoon season. 

Overall our Negros Occidental was delightful with its diverse wonderful sights and stories.

Thoughts on Lakawon Island Resort

Accommodation is expensive, but that's because it's an exclusive island.
It was relatively easier to get there compared to some of the other places na dinayo pa namin/dinayo ko (eg Bantayan, Camotes Islands).
You can actually do day tour here, but sayang naman more than couple of hours din from Bacolod City, so might as well stay for the night.

And the beach is really nice kahit na windy nung nagpunta kami.

Food is awful though; really expensive kaya hindi kami nag splurge dito.

Even though this trip was from 14 months ago, I surprisingly still have my notes! Expect a detailed post ahead! *beaming with pride*

Cansi is a popular dish in Bacolod. It's comparable to Bulalo

1 order of hefty Cansi, 2 tortang talongs, Coke, total bill PHP 480 only!!!

 Mambukal Mountain Resort is consisted of several smaller resorts 

 

We opted for this small but less crowded resort, The Japanese Ofuro

We had sandwiches for dinner at Kuppa Coffee and Cocktails which is conveniently just a close walking distance from where we stayed on our first night, Go Hotels Bacolod
