Finally Additional Fonts: Betraying Courier and Arial with Shadows Into Light

Gasssppppppp, pwede na magdagdag ng ibang font????????

After 7 months of quarantine, I did it - went out for my first "non-essential labas".  To celebrate all occasions of 2020, from my birthday, to Doe's, to Minz', and our 10th year in the company, we had breakfast in Tagaytay. There was more to it really, the main reason we HAD to come and see each other in person, but that's not my story to tell.  It was pouring the night before; iniisip ko na baka di rin matuloy and maybe, that's okay. I was hesitant for obvious reasons, but have to admit there was excitement at the same time. It almost felt like I was going out on a first date. I even exclaimed "excited na ko magsapatos ulet". Almost all of my shoes are already too maalikabok!

I also had to "air" my pullover and paligo it with perfume dahil galing sa "box of clothes I won't be using anytime soon" - there was a faint but noticeable smell of plastic.

As soon as we stepped out of the car, I felt the familiar piercing breeze on my face and thought to myself - Oh I've missed this.

A woman had her photo taken with the lake in the background, and immediately said, almost yelling "syempre 'di ko ipopost!"

Ganon na talaga 'no? Disclaimer is a must (protocol was followed, we wore mask, did this, did that). Well maybe, to ease the worry na rin of our loved ones. I sent a photo to our family groupchat, and of course noted that we were cautious.

Something has changed though, while going over the menu, ang naiisip ko lang sa bawat napipili ko "oh boss can cook this", or "we can easily make this at home, mura pa". Ang ending, nadisappoint ako sa napili ko. But I enjoyed having breakfast al fresco. The coffee was good and the restaurant is also pretty.  It's nice makakita ng labas while eating. The Binintiang Malaki seemed closer and I feel like I was the only one who noticed it.  Malungkot lang 'coz a lot of establishments in Tagayay, just like elsewhere nagsara na rin. Tatay mentioned it, and nakakalungkot rin makita talaga.

Doe dropped us off at Festival Mall. And yes, it's been 7 months na rin since I last set foot Alabang. Nablanko pa ko when thinking saan ang mga Japanese restaurants coz yun ang request ni boss na pasalubong. Well, Yabu kasi una kong naisip, walang Yabu sa Festival, and wala na ko balak lipat pa Town Center.

Less uneventful weekend 'til  we all go back to our normal, hopefully soon. For now e-numan muna and maybe, another social distancing coffee date.

"Don't you think maybe they are the same thing? Love and attention?"

I wish on occasions that I have time to write, I am at better state of mind.

Maybe not after watching a sad film.

You know what, Lady Bird isn't a sad film. It's a beautiful film, but it made me feel things.

I can't seem to meet my own expectations and struggle at changing my ways.

I'm glad my life isn't a movie. It's far from entertaining, there is zero character development, the female lead is starting to get annoying, and she's not even that pretty.
There is exquisite music though, that I can guarantee.

Mawawala ba lungkot ko kapag nag order ako ng katsu?

Do humans find it comforting to know that other people also suffer in silence like one's self, or would that just be a miserable reality?

Apparently hindi pa rin ako tapos sa mga tanong ko.

I wonder if it is all worth it in the end.
(Is this random musing or is this existential crisis?)

You know what sucks - we can't even fantasize about escape. Not in this situation. Not in the non-morbid way people escape.
And if we do, we're slammed with the cruel question of
"And then what?!"

It's impossible to save anyone from sadness. I wish I have an absurd amount of transferrable joy and security that I can give you. But it doesn't work that way.
Pero gusto ko sana masaya kayo or may content and acceptance. Pwede ba yun? Ano ba tamang state of mind and emotion na okay ka pa sa buhay, willing ka pa mag strive, you know, before life becomes a waste.

I apologize if this is rather too dark for your random reading.

Anyway, on a much lighter note, I am dreaming of Yabu's  hire katsu set - tender meat, unlimited cabbage, and all that shebang.
Sabi nila, if may isang bagay kang gusto, wait 30 days, at pag gusto mo parin, go for it. It's only been 2 days, but I can't stop thinking about it. Bakit walang Yabu near me?
I should just buy choice cut tomorrow and have boss make me a katsu set. Kaya pa ba?

"Create something even if it sucks."

I don't know who said it. Just found it on one of Reddit's motivational subs.

Random blabbering -

2 more days til the weekend. I have a throbbing headache and I don't know if it's a good idea to take Melatonin now so I can finally sleep.

Nasaan na kaya napunta mga "while washing the dishes" ideas ko.

In the mean time please enjoy this random photo of a bukid at dawn.

Matagal tagal na rin since I last enjoyed a view like this. I wish I have a recent sunset by the beach photo.

Oh well, let's just hope for the best.

Anyway, I've made up my mind, White Flower and Melatonin.

IPDNTSBIAITMCANIOI

I have decided to start a series called IPDNTSBIAITMCANIOI:
"I probably don't need this shit but I added it to my cart and now I own it"

Quarantine. Did we actually think that staying at home and not going to malls would keep us from making impulse purchases?!

I bought a bayong which I intend to use for on my talipapa trips.
Am I satisfied that it fits 4, maybe 5 vegetables? Who knows. But it's so cute, I kinda want another one to use for something else, maybe a future beach trip or what not.

Look at these canisters I bought for my imaginary coffee bar! (I know that I, with questionable enthusiasm always ask for you to look at something that may just be underwhelming, but please do.)
I mean, if the budget permits, maybe I will have my own mini coffee bar at home. I don't really need a 6,000 peso espresso machine right now. My basic coffee maker will do.

Of course affordable bathroom scales exist. But I couldn't resist this sleek, futuristic-looking Xiao Mi digital scale that displays this weight which may or may not be mine.
Should I be bothered that I am past my ideal BMI? Maybe. But do I love ordering cheeseburger and fries when nothing else seem to be good enough? YES. Is soda involved? Also YES. Is regret imminent? Also YES.

Pink cat phone case. This maybe the first time I've owned a pink phone case. I do not exactly know what to make of it. Is this regression? Do I want to relive my pre-teens days and buy things in pink and purple? Do I really have to question everything?

Some other items I bought that are not exactly pretty so I didn't take a photo of it and I don't want to bother to do so now that I'm reaching the end of this post:

Can we still say how we really feel, or are we all living in fear - of being offensive, of being insensitive, of being a total idiot?!

It's unfortunate that kids were robbed not just of summer, but also the delight of back-to-school shopping. This is one of the many little things that is indeed too little but combined with all other little things sums up our previous normal.

I miss notebook-shopping. I miss rummaging stacks after stacks of notebooks at Landmark. Being overwhelmed with all the choices; feeling the pages and finding the right amount of coarseness. The ease of online shopping cannot amount to the enjoyment of physically inspecting each notebook.

September seemed far at the outset of the quarantine, yet here we are.
